THURSDAY 10/17/2024 - PART 1

We all met in the hotel lobby a little after 6am on Thursday. We had a quick bite to eat, and grabbed our very strong coffees, before heading out to start the day we'd all been looking forward to!

We were a bit anxious, as none of us really knew what to expect. We had the address to the warehouse we were going to be dropping the supplies at and where we'd meet the Mountain Rescue NC Team and we had an itinerary of the day's plans - but, apart from that, we really had no idea what we would encounter. Our first obstacle came when we passed the warehouse entrance. We were on a fairly busy country road and there were not many options for turning a semi around! Eventually we got Bob & Jamie headed back in the right direction - although I think it may have taken a few years off of Jamie's life. 😱

We had brought all the water down on the semi, due to weight, so we had to transfer a few pallets of water to the enclosed trailers to deliver to a local Ingle's grocery store that was also serving as a donation distribution center.

Once the semi was unloaded, Bob & Jamie took off to head back to Michigan. We appreciate them so much! And we owe a huge thank you to Bo Trout & Bogie's Express for the use of their beautiful truck!

After Bob & Jamie left, we got some instructions from Ashley and the rest of the Mountain Rescue NC crew, said a prayer, and headed out!
